What is Secure AI?

Secure artificial intelligence (AI) is a lifecycle that encompasses expert business advice as well as solution design, build, implementation and operationalization. Core elements include responsible AI principles to support ethical choices, attention to AI TRiSM (trust, risk and security management) and built-in AI system safeguards to protect models and data.

To adopt secure AI implementation, organizations must:

  • Follow secure-by-design principles
  • Build AI literacy by training on proper interaction with AI tools
  • Develop redundant plans and backup systems
  • Maintain compliance
  • Enforce rigorous testing, monitoring and error-handling procedures
  • Use AI/machine learning (ML) in threat defense
  • Keep up with industry standards
  • Define and measure KPIs
  • Communicate outcomes
