A Year of Giving, Growing and Evolving: Optiv Chips In 2024 Year in Review

If there is one thing we learned in 2024, it’s that giving back isn’t just something we do at Optiv. It’s who we are. Optiv Chips In, our community impact program, had an incredible year – and it’s all thanks to our people, leaders and partners.

More Hands, Hours and Impact

As the cyber advisory and solutions leader, we care deeply about tomorrow’s technology leaders. Optiv Chips In places a strong focus on education and support for underserved students. As part of Giving Tuesday 2023, Optiv launched four Optiv STEAM Lab^™ locations to inspire students in underserved communities to pursue a career in technology. Volunteers painted the labs, built furniture and donated the technology equipment needed to power the lab, which included 3D printers, laser cutters, iPads, computers, Wi-Fi, furniture and more.

We also recognize that empowering the next generation doesn’t begin with technology. We support the whole student and are committed to meeting their most basic needs first so they can thrive when it comes to science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) learning opportunities.

One of our biggest milestones in 2024 was our inaugural company-wide Volunteer Week. Employees across all levels stepped up to collaborate with food banks to support food students and families in their communities. In just one week, Optiv donated over 500,000 meals by teaming up with local food banks and nonprofits. In total, we saw a 51% increase in employee volunteerism and a 92% increase in volunteer hours compared to 2023. That’s a huge leap and with a team of over 2,500 employees across the U.S., Canada and India, the impact is real.

But what makes Optiv Chips In truly special is that our executives lead the charge. They don’t just support our initiatives from the sidelines. They’re in the trenches, volunteering, planning and encouraging employees to get involved. When leadership sets the tone, it creates a culture where giving back isn’t a requirement – it’s an opportunity.

Expanding Our Reach

What makes Optiv Chips In unique is our planning committee. The team is made up of team members who step up and bring fresh ideas and perspectives, working tirelessly year-round to organize impactful events. Whether it’s small acts of kindness or major initiatives, we celebrate every contribution because every effort counts.

In 2024, we took collaboration to the next level by partnering with our seven Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Each ERG selected a nonprofit partner that aligned with their mission, expanding our network of community support. Through this collective effort, we supported causes that are close to our people and our hearts, including:

But we don’t just donate monetarily – we build real relationships with our partners. Instead of assuming what’s needed, we ask, listen and find ways to fill the gaps.

Looking Ahead

So, why do we prioritize giving back? Because our core mission at Optiv is to secure greatness and that extends beyond the digital world. Just like we help our clients secure their full potential, we want to be a force for good and help our communities thrive.
