Territory Account Managers: Growing our SalesForce

Territory Account Managers: Growing our SalesForce

Expanding our Reach

As the world continues to become more digitally connected, companies are facing both new and more challenging threats than they were just a couple of years ago. With that, Optiv continues to grow as a security solutions integrator, and so does our client base. Thus, our need for sales representatives who are passionate about the cybersecurity space has grown as well. That is why we have introduced the Territory Account Manager (TAM) position. These roles serve as an introduction to the world of cybersecurity services and technology sales and are designed with a clear career path and defined career-advancement goals and objectives. TAMs specifically pursue and cultivate new clients. This will allow us to expand our reach and provide cybersecurity services and technology to new organizations and also provide coaching and mentoring to individuals just starting in their sales career.

Jaron Stewart, an Optiv Talent Acquisition Partner, explains the purpose and function of the roles like this:

The Territory Account Manager (TAM) position is a newly created role that will allow Optiv to support new clients. TAMs are similar to a Business Development Representatives in that they are a pure hunting position that will focus on account penetration and new business acquisition. It will be a hybrid position with inside/outside sales responsibilities. The goal is for the TAM role to have a pathway into a pure outside/field sales position (Client Manager) to support large enterprise accounts. This is a great associate sales position for candidates looking to grow their sales career at Optiv.

Currently, we have open positions in the following regions:

  • Seattle, WA
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Washington D.C.
  • Tampa, FL
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Omaha, NE

Continuing the Trend

In addition to the TAM role, Optiv recently re-introduced several Associate Consultant roles within our Services Team that have allowed us to train and mentor passionate individuals who are just starting in their security careers. We take pride in promoting from within, and nurturing individuals who are driven to investigate a career path that suits their skills and goals. With the shortage of talent in cybersecurity and a surplus of unmet security needs, it is becoming increasingly important to recruit professionals beginning or restarting their careers and coach them to be the top talent we need.
