Denver – February 25, 2016 - Optiv Security, a leading provider of end-to-end cyber security solutions, today announced it has expanded its commitment to helping clients better solve cyber security problems with the appointments of respected security strategists Stuart Solomon and JD Sherry. In their newly created roles, Solomon and Sherry are working with subject matter experts across Optiv to create holistic, programmatic offerings that bring together the right people, processes and technology in a sustainable and scalable way. These solutions will enable security leaders to work with Optiv to build comprehensive solutions to their biggest challenges and realize the ROI on their technology investments, achieving better overall results.

As vice president of strategy, innovation and research, Solomon is responsible for developing solutions in core areas such as cyber threat intelligence, identity and access management, security awareness, software security and persistent endpoint monitoring to help enable incident response and hunting capabilities. Sherry, vice president of cloud security, is focused on all security aspects that enable clients’ success in planning, building and running cloud ecosystems, spanning across private, public and most commonly hybrid cloud computing environments.

Solomon joins Optiv from iSIGHT Partners where most recently he served as senior vice president, corporate development, legal and risk. This came after many years working as a cyber security practitioner, strategist and leader in the military, financial sector, and consulting and product manufacturer industries where he focused on building additional capabilities to security programs that helped combat emerging threats. This expertise combined with his legal background provides him with the ideal perspective to help develop industry leading cyber security solutions. 

Sherry is well versed in enterprise security and data center architecture and has successfully implemented large-scale public, private and hybrid clouds. Prior to Optiv, Sherry spent more than a decade in senior leadership roles, most recently as CEO of Silicon Valley-based cyber start-up Cavirin. He also worked as global vice president for Trend Micro where he focused on cyber security program efforts, managing vendor relationships and driving business development activities pertaining to the advancement of cyber security best practices for virtualization and cloud. He spent seven years with publicly traded NIC/EGOV as vice president of technology responsible for leading corporate technology initiatives and formulating EGOV.com’s centralized security and technology strategy.
